Overview

Each Journal provides a framework for taking big concepts and large volumes of information and compressing them down into something much more digestible. This is accomplished by filling out 2 pages per chapter as you read through the books. The first page provides a brief introduction to the chapter followed by devotional summary that creates space for you to ponder the Point, the Person, the Prayer, the Practice, and the Promise, and the second page leaves room for you to use any way you see fit—take notes, draw a picture, write a poem, etc. Watch the video below if you’d like to learn more as David Asscherick talks about the Journals in more detail.

Paper and Binding

The Journals are printed using a beautifully smooth paper that’s created for use in notebooks. The paper has a high opacity, and is acid-free to ensure your Journals look good for years to come.

In addition, the Journals are bound using a method called OTA Bind. This innovative technology doesn’t adhere the cover to the spine which allows the Journals to open flat for ease of us. And because each of the pages are sewn in, you never have to worry about one falling out.

The devotional rubric included in the journal was created by David Asscherick, and is the same model he uses when reading through these books.

He is planning to continue the OT with DA series in the spring of 2023 by reading through Prophets and Kings. You can join his livestream on Instagram as he records videos exploring the depths of each chapter, and explaining how he completed the devotional rubric, or follow along at your own pace on his YouTube channel.

If you want to get a taste for how awesome this experience is, David has already created videos for each chapter of The Desire of Ages in a series he called DA with DA, and each chapter of Patriarchs and Prophets in the first part of OT with DA.

Works with Any Edition

The Journals were designed as a companion to The Conflict Beautiful, but they can easily be used with any edition of Ellen White’s classic Conflict of the Ages series—including the free EGW Writings App created by the EGW Estate.

Stunning Work

Absolutely LOVED these journals. Paper quality was exemplary, layout was clean and the synopsis of each chapter was perfect. Plenty of note taking room, including dots and lines for different styles.
Mark and Jen are wonderful!

A new dimension

I’ve read the Desire of Ages through several times, I am using the DA journal first. This adds a dimension to my devotional time that is such a blessing! I am doing it along with DA with DA on YouTube. The rubric helps me be mindful as I read and look for those themes…I wasn’t sure I would use the sketch area…but I have come up with a sketch every day so far…(brings out the creative part of my mind). Thank you Types and Symbols for making these beautiful books and journals. I did not think I needed to purchase new books as I already own a few different versions, but I am so glad I did purchase them, they are beautiful to look at and a blessing to read. The journals compliment the set so well.

The Conflict Beautiful Journals

I bought these to compliment the OTwithDA challenge. While I haven't been able to keep up with the pace, I plan to complete the journal of each chapter at a slower schedule. The journals are beautifully done, and I recommend them to anyone who is looking to deepen their study experience.

These books are extremely well made, with nice thick paper that does not allow ink to
bleed through. We are enjoying using them along with our Bible study. Great product!!
